Data instead of opinions
After our first big kart race, we only want one thing: to improve.
Sector times, deltas, clear information – not just gut feeling and tips. Sure, we learned a lot from experienced kart drivers – but as the saying goes: Five people, ten opinions.
Everyone has a different line, a different theory—but no one can prove it. We need something that shows what really matters on the track.

First ideas
Our intensive research has shown that there are countless solutions that can provide the desired data.
From highly professional lap timers to simple smartphone apps.
But this knowledge presents another challenge: How do we attach the devices to the kart so that we can see live timing while driving? The idea is a simple smartphone mount, produced using 3D printing.

Oliver and Harry from @fiberdraft are immediately up and running after a short pitch.
Together (*cough*) we solve problems such as different steering wheel diameters, GPS, lap timer and smartphone mounting, weight, modularity and stability in countless hours.
The expertise and comprehensive knowledge in 3D design: Wow. The result: a KartBuddy with a quality that meets every automotive industry standard.

It becomes official
Since December 2024, not only has the trade license existed but also the knowledge of how many regulations, standards and laws there actually are that must be complied with.
Or have you ever heard of a packaging levy? Or RoHS and REACH? Or how nerve-wracking sourcing can be? Just this much: 90 percent of the time isn't spent on product development.
Now just the last 1,000 to-dos and the end of the pit lane is slowly – very slowly – coming into sight.

The first KartBuddies
All our packs are packed, we're ready to go.
Looking back, we've accomplished something almost inhuman. And the pride couldn't be greater. The first MOKADAMO Kartbuddies in the limited Prime Edition are packaged and ready to get a taste of the racing action.
And where could it be better than in Jesolo at the 24-hour race of the Austrian Outdoor Masters.
