In rental karting, you'll find different steering wheel shapes depending on the track operator and the rental kart manufacturer. We distinguish between two basic styles: GT-style and Formula-style.

To ensure the perfect and secure hold of any equipment mounted on a kart steering wheel, it's important that it fits perfectly. For this reason, we opted for two form-fitting versions.

Thanks to high-resolution 3D scans of the most common steering wheels from a wide range of manufacturers, we have designed the MOKADAMO Wheel Hooks to fit so precisely that you can be sure that the KartBuddy will hold rock solid even under the toughest racing conditions.

Don't be fooled by brands. Most steering wheels, regardless of manufacturer, have these standard shapes and differ only in the logo and minor details.

GT Style steering wheels

These wheels are thick on the top (up to 3 cm) and have a more or less rounded appearance. Many older, but also more powerful, rental kart models have these steering wheels installed.

The perfect MOKADAMO attachment for this is the 02A | Wheel Hook GT . Its deeper shape and long fixing strap with two eyelets allow for secure yet quick installation.

In many cases, the steering wheel spokes are slightly offset. For this, we developed the MOKADAMO StandOff Adapter (included with the 02A | Wheel Hook GT).

It serves to bridge the gap between the KartBuddy and the steering wheel spoke and also stabilizes the KartBuddy horizontally thanks to the precisely fitting "ears".

The two arrows on the "ears" must always point upwards.

It's important that you test the configuration on each new racetrack to determine which one produces the most stable results. To do this, first hang the KartBuddy on the steering wheel without the StandOff adapter and secure it with the FixingStrap. If the KartBuddy isn't resting on the steering wheel spoke, please install the StandOff adapter. You can screw it in and out depending on the distance to create the ideal contact pressure.

Formula Style steering wheels

These wheels are thin on the top (up to 1 cm) and have a more or less square appearance. Most kart tracks with SODI rental karts have these steering wheels installed.

The perfect MOKADAMO attachment for this is the 02B | Wheel Hook Formula . Its slim design and short fixing strap with a fastening eyelet allow for secure yet quick installation.

The StandOff adapter is not necessary for Formula Style steering wheels.
